Meeting Day:
Sunday

Meeting Time:
4:30 to 6 p.m.
Everyone is welcome; no experience is required. New folks stop by all the time. You don’t have to be Buddhist to enjoy our practice.
Dress in comfortable, casual clothing. We have a circle of chairs for people who like to meditate in chairs. We also have cushions for people who prefer to sit on the floor. We begin with a few minutes to settle in and get comfortable. Then the leader gives a brief orientation and makes announcements followed by introductions Then we have a 20-minute silent sitting meditation. Basic instructions are provided for new folks. The middle period is different each week. We often recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings, based on the original Five Precepts of the Buddha. Other weeks we do walking meditation, have readings and/or mindful sharing. We rotate facilitators, so it is a little different each week. Then we have a second 20-minute meditation, sometimes silent and sometimes guided. We finish up with a Dedication of Merit before 6 p.m.
